Initial reaction… received it from Amazon without issue. unpacked it, battery installed powered up and wow… nice optic! got it mounted and headed out to get it sighted in… Performance is flawless in the initial outing, zero adjustment was easy and without issue. So far, I would not hesitate on acquiring another… if I remember, I’ll add more feedback once I’ve had it a while. Read more

Love this red dot. It’s just as good as my Holosuns and EOTech red dots and looks like it can take a hard hit. Holosuns are small but as reference, the Athlon is smaller than my Vortex Strikefire with better all performance. Pros: It’s built like a tank. Auto on feature is great. Has a giant coated objective lens that provides a very large and super clear field of view and perfect height for co-witness on irons. The brightness buttons are close to flush on the body, perfectly placed and easy to quickly adjust. Holds zero (only experience is on a soft shooting 11.5″ gas piston gun) Cons: It’s built like a tank- thus a little heavy. Biggest flaw- the ocular lens (rear glass) which is large is almost flush to the eyepiece so there is no protective cover. It gets dusty quickly and I treat it with extra care to protect it from damage, which is the only reason I would not use it as a duty optic on my throw around guns. For those wanting a huge field of view, this is the optic for you. Add a little more protective cover over the big lenses and it would be the best red dot optic for the money. Read more
