  • is scope fog or water-resistant
  • question: is scope fog or water-resistant solution: the simmons is of superb pleasant, however i needed to return it as it turned into to large for my use, i used to be searching out a everyday length recognizing scope for my 22lr taking pictures. The model sp206080ba would be exquisite for recognizing game. By way of amazon patron on december 26, 2018 crumble all answers

Nice scope with great clarity and ease of focus. My only complaint is the eyepiece relief. It’s very hard to get your eye centered and not see black around the edges. Read more

Unbelievable clarity, even at full zoom and even putting it side to side with a $2800 Swarovski I chose the Simmons. I went shopping for spotting scopes and did tons of research read reviews, watched videos and ended up at a sportsman’s warehouse comparing scopes of all price ranges and I just couldn’t believe that I ended up choosing the simmons venture 20-60x80mm especially since it goes for about $160 and comes with a soft case and pelican style hard case, table top tripod and great locking lens covers I expected it to be a piece of junk but I have been proven wrong. I will say it’s a good bit larger than the higher priced spotting scopes of the same power and objective lens size but it’s not very heavy. I was wondering how it would hold up to me packing into the mountains to hunt on foot being a bow hunter and it’s been put through the paces and is still rock solid and has unbelievable clarity even in low light… have even used it to star gaze a couple times and it was perfect. I highly recommend these scopes, I’ve heard great things about the 60mm objective lens ones too. If you don’t believe the review just find a sporting goods place that carries them and check it out for yourself, even put it side to side with the top of the line scopes and you won’t believe it. Understand that this review is for the angled 20-60X x80 Simmons Venture. Unfortunately, Simmons or SOMEbody flooded that product’s listing with so many fake reviews as to make it so incredible that Amazon listed it to verified purchases only. I got mine at Sportsman’s warehouse, where I compared it ( inside, looking across the store at stuff critters) to Leupold and Swarovski and Vortex scopes. My eyes are 60+ years old, I’m not a professional photographer nor sniper, and it was inside with controlled lighting. The only difference I saw was that the Vortex HD Raptor had more light with the image. Since I couldn’t tell the diff between at $159 and $3000 scope, I went with the Simmons. Understand that if you drop kick a Leupold or Swarovski, they’ll cover it. These guys don’t cover it like they do, but then again, we’re talking buy 10-20 of these for one of the other ones, so there ya go. I’m planning on animal watching, moon gazing, and using a cell phone for pix, so for those purposes this is good and certainly better than the cheaper Chinese stuff I had the misfortune of buying on ebay in the past. I THINK they use a better prism in this, but as a single factor, that’s utterly unimportant. My advise: Go to Sportsman’s Warehouse and compare this to the pricey ones and ask yourself if it’s worth the cost difference. My one real complaint: They UTTERLY cheaped out on the large cap for the scope front. It’s a bear to remove (slippery small plastic grips) AND it doesn’t stay on the scope so you’ll lose it within a day. DUMB. Read more
