After 30 years of buying Nikon, Zeiss, and Leupold scopes, I decided to try the Vortex. Lots of folks give them good reviews, and I figured, they matured enough to produce a competing reliable hunting scope by now. I did not install it, so I can only comment on fit and finish. This scope feels sturdy, but aesthetically, it is lacking. Fit and finish are a good part of the evaluation criteria when you mount the scope on a nice quality rifle. This one was going on a new CZ 457 my wife got for squirrel hunting. What turned me off, is the fact that the adjustment knob is too big, and has the look and feel of the cheaper scopes. It simply did not look like a good fit on that rifle. Some people may not care about this, and that is fine, but when every detail matters, this detail cause us to return the scope back to Amazon. We ended up mounting the Leupold 2-7×33 instead and it fit the rifle very well. Read more

Vortex has an entire line of incredible optics. This rimfire model (Diamondback 2-7 x 35 V-Plex) is mounted on a Ruger 10-22 that’s just one year shy of thirty years old and never had a scope on it until now. Scopes aren’t for everyone but neither are iron sights; especially when your eyes quit working so well as they used to. Read more

Glass is just as good if not better than my Nikon, but price and warranty is definitely better. I put this on my takedown (yeah, takedown not super light anymore), but the takedown is now spot on in accuracy! Weight for accuracy…good trade when it comes to potential meal or hunger. The parallax is 50 yards and appears to be accurate. My ammo using was bulk run, so…I wasn’t worried about the spread (wasn’t bad, but not a single hole either). I liked the focus…was able to make fine adjustments to make things very clear! Love this scope. Read more

Astonishing for the money. Super clear glass, very tough construction. I was hoping I’d fit this with the Vortex low scope rings on a Savage mark 2 BTVLSS but no luck. The back of the scope comes into contact with the barrel. I believe all the Savage Mark 2 rifles will require medium rings with this scope. Read more

Very bright and clear scope. Equal to scopes costing hundreds of $$ more. Backed by a great company. Scope arrived with one of the bikini lens covers cracked. One email to Vortex and I had a new lens cover delivered to me at no cost within a few days. Fit and finish of the scope is outstanding. Read more
