I wish I would have taken a picture but these mounts would sit my scope slighty right of center of the rifle. They were sitting on a BCA upper and the ring bases wouldn’t sit on the pic rail quite right. Instead of sitting flat on the rail, the rings would literally lean to the right. Idk if the rail on the upper reciever is out of spec or the rings bases were the issue. I’ve never had this particular issue with any other AR platform or hunting rifle before so I’m thinking it’s the rings. I may test them on a different upper but for now they’re in the junk drawer. Other than that, the ring’s durability seems pretty decent. But that doesn’t really matter if it doesn’t fit properly. Read more

I bought silver ones and I could not get the screws to start. Finally got one to start and started working it in and out to get the holes cleaned out. On the third hole the screw went in half way and stopped solid. I could back it out about 1/8 turn and stopped solid again. I got it out but it took some lube and patience. I called Weaver and I only asked for the thread size to clean up the threads. The tech said that they powder coat after the threads are cut and it can get into the threads. He said the thread was 6-48 and I said that is all I need to fix it. I already had a couple of 6-48 taps so I chased all of the holes. Quite a bit of crap came out and now it works fine. I like the shape, but but you may need a tap and tap holder to make it happen. Read more

These are supposed to be medium height rings but have the same offset as most of the low rings. They are only 0.175″ from top of rail to bottom of scope tube, the same as most brands low rings. These would not let me mount a 40mm objective on three different rifles I tried. I will keep them as it isn’t worth the hassle to return and I need to mount a smaller 4×32 scope on a pistol, but I would have preferred something aluminum and lighter for that purpose. Read more

Weaver mounts, the fit and finish is good. These are for 1″ scopes with no ‘shims’. Quality product. I like the ‘Grand Slam’ series for scope mounting on my high power pistols as I use a version of the ‘Taco Grip’ and they have a nice smooth exterior shape resulting in less wear and tear on my paws. They hold the scope solidly as well. I keep several sizes on my bench to facilitate my scope mounting projects. I am a repeat buyer and would recommend to anyone. Read more

All steel are heavier rings. Used these medium height rings on a TC Compass II Compact .243 with a Swift (Korea) 6×40 scope. Objective gap to barrel is perfect; bolt clears scope easily. Setup for inexpensive truck rifle for coyotes with 60 grain varmint rounds. Grand Slams are the only mounts I have ever used; no reason to ever use something else for Weaver mount style. Read more

Pretty good rings. I have tightened them to the right torque with blue loc-tite and the bases stay tight while I’ve had some of the top screws loosen slightly every time I’ve shot the guns they’re on I don’t think the scopes have ever moved because of this. The guns are a 12ga slug-gun and a .280 rem so I’m not sure it’s the rings really. Heavy recoiling guns. I’ve recently tightened them to 20 or 25 inch-lbs, which is slightly over spec I believe, with loc-tite and I’ll see how it goes. I don’t think they’ll break and hopefully they’ll stay tight. They must be tapped wrong as the mounting screws included were ridiculously tight and one snapped off in base, I did not cross thread them they just are crazy tight. There are two I can’t get any tighter and stickup 1/8 inch higher than the rest. The t15 tool they provide is too small and it slipped and scratched my new silver Nikon ProStaff scope. I’m terribly dissatisfied with these. They look nice but just impossible to install correctly Read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. None of the bolts would thread properly, had to drill them out and scratched up a brand new leupold scope. Very very unhappy that my scope took a beating for rings that were subpar. I would ask for a replacement scope but I know that won’t happen. Sending back the rings. Read more
